Aaron Judge keeps climbing Yankees all-time home run list, ties legend of the game

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge has already started establish himself as one of the all-time greats to ever wear the pinstripes. He continued to prove that on Thursday night with a pair of home runs in a 9-3 win over the Detroit Tigers, further placing him among the franchise's all-time greats.

His two home runs on Thursday not only brought him to 46 for the season and helped him inch closer to the 50-home run mark, but they also moved him into a tie for fourth place on the franchise's all-time home run list with 361 home runs as a member of the Yankees. Here is the home run that moved him into that tie.

At this point, he only trails Babe Ruth (659), Mickey Mantle (536) and Lou Gehrig (493) on the franchise's all-time list. Judge already owns the team's — and American League's — single-season record with 62 from the 2022 season.

The only thing that Judge is missing from his resume at this point to truly join the Yankees' elite is a World Series ring. He has all of the individual awards and could add another MVP to his trophy case this season, but the World Series is the one thing that is truly keeping him a tier below the legends tier of Ruth, Mantle, Gehrig and Derek Jeter.

He got close a year ago when the Yankees reached the World Series, but he struggled throughout the entire series. Perhaps this year will be different for him and the Yankees.
