Chiefs RB Le'Veon Bell: Patrick Mahomes 'might be the greatest player ever'

When Le'Veon Bell joined the Kansas City Chiefs after being cut by the New York Jets earlier this season, he knew one of the biggest benefits would be getting to play with superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Like the rest of us, Bell already knew that Mahomes was one of the most talented quarterbacks in recent memory, but the running back says getting to see the fourth-year signal-caller in action convinced him he may be the greatest football player of all time.

"I always thought he was a great player. Then I came here and then when I came here, that’s when it really hit me, like oh, he might be the greatest player ever," Bell said. "It’s the way he practices, how he goes about his business. … I wish y’all could see the throws he does in practice, it would be unbelievable... I thought he was like a 10 before I came here. And now I think he’s probably like a 12."

Bell declaring Mahomes might be the best to ever play is obviously a bit premature, but the crazy thing is that it's not actually that crazy of a claim. After all, Mahomes is already off to perhaps the greatest start to a career in NFL history.

After riding the bench for his rookie year, Mahomes took the league by storm in year two, winning MVP while nearly getting the Chiefs to the Super Bowl. His second year, he not only got the Chiefs to the Super Bowl, but he managed to win them their first title in 50 years (while winning Super Bowl MVP). Now he is just one win away from yet another Super Bowl. Of course, to repeat as champion, he will have to beat the guy who is widely considered the GOAT.
