Aaron Gordon is 0-3 in All-Star slam dunk contests for his career. But this season, he had the Dunk of the Year.

On Christmas Day, Gordon went up, over and through Phoenix's Landry Shamet to give his Nuggets a three-point lead late in their win over the Suns. The only negative to the dunk was that the officials originally called it an offensive foul, before overturning the call and giving the foul to Shamet.

Previously, Gordon lost an epic dunk contest to Zach LaVine in 2016 despite delivering perhaps the greatest dunk in All-Star Weekend history.
The next year, Gordon pinned his hopes on a drone, but ended up disappointingly letting the drone's pass bounce. He did not make it out of the first round of the event.

Gordon had another spectacular dunk-contest duel in 2020, which ended after some questionable judging from Dwyane Wade. Gordon should have won simply for dunking over 7-foot-5 Tacko Fall.

That loss stung Gordon, so much that he recorded a sad rap song abut the loss called "9 Out Of 10."
Now, Gordon is finally a dunk champion. Of sorts. Going into Game 6 with his team holding a 3-2 series lead, he can dunk the Suns right out of the playoffs. And Dwyane Wade can't do anything about it, this time.
