New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Tuesday during his appearance on "Good Morning Football" that he regretted his recent comments about the team embarrassing the quarterbacks they've played this season.
#Jets coach Robert Saleh on @gmfb on his postgame comments Sunday: “The word ‘embarrassed’ was probably not the right choice of words for me at that time, but there’s a lot of faith in our defense and Jeff Ulbrich and how good a job he and the defensive staff do in terms of…

Following the Jets' upset win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6, Saleh said, "Through these first six weeks, we’ve played a gauntlet of quarterbacks" and "I know we haven’t gotten all wins, but we’ve embarrassed all of them."
Offseason acquisition and four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with a serious (and perhaps season-ending) Achilles injury just four snaps into his Jets career in Week 1, paving the way for Zach Wilson to take over.
Wilson got off to a brutal start this fall with a pair of ugly performances in back-to-back losses in Weeks 2 and 3, but nearly led New York to an upset over the Kansas City Chiefs in primetime action in Week 4. Wilson set career highs in completions (28) and quarterback rating (105.2) in the 23-20 defeat, but has helped the Jets pick up two straight wins now over the Denver Broncos and Eagles to get the Jets to 3-3.
The New York defense has been, for the most part, as sharp as advertised this season, holding all six of the opposing signal-callers they've faced to under 300 passing yards while recording eight interceptions. The Jets have faced some of the best quarterbacks in the NFL in Hurts, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, as well as Dak Prescott, Russell Wilson and Mac Jones.
Whether on purpose or not, Saleh seemed to be quoting his own starting quarterback at the end of Tuesday's words when he said "doing everything we can to make quarterbacks' lives hell."
Days after New York's season ended last winter (and well before they traded for Rodgers), Zach Wilson was asked how he'd react if the organization signed a veteran quarterback, to which he replied "I'm going to make that dude's life hell in practice every day."
The next quarterback that the Jets' defense will try to embarrass will be Daniel Jones (if healthy), as Gang Green squares off against the New York Giants following their Week 7 bye on Oct. 29.
