Oleksandr Usyk was taken to the hospital after his win over Tyson Fury on Saturday due to a suspected serious injury, according to Fury.

Usyk defeated Fury via split decision in their heavyweight fight at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday. The fact that it was a split decision victory tells you how close the judges felt the fight was (two judges scored it 114-113, and one had it 115-112). The injury Usyk is suspected to have suffered also tells you about the damage inflicted by Fury.

Usyk did not attend the post-fight press conference. Instead, he had been taken to the hospital to be treated for a suspected broken jaw, Fury said.

Just because Usyk was taken to the hospital doesn’t mean the fight was one-sided by any stretch. Usyk dished out plenty of punishment.

The loss marked the first of Fury’s career. He is now 34-1-1. Usyk is 22-0 with 14 wins by knockout.
