Watch: Jazz Chisholm Jr. has another two-home run game for Yankees

The New York Yankees had become stale in the month leading up to the Major League Baseball trade deadline on Tuesday. They needed a spark, something to inject some energy into a team that was losing momentum and fading after a strong start.

They seem to have found that in new addition Jazz Chisholm Jr.

After hitting two home runs in the Yankees' 14-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night, he followed that up on Tuesday with another two-home run game.

His first home run in the top of the sixth inning helped cut a 4-1 Phillies lead down to a 4-2 deficit.

Just one inning later, he gave the Yankees a 5-4 lead by clubbing a three-run homer down the right-field line.

Chisholm Jr. was a leadoff hitting center fielder for the Marlins this season, and immediately upon joining the Yankees, he started being used as a middle-of-the-order third baseman. The results, so far, speak for themselves.

With back-to-back two-home run games, he is the first Yankees player to ever hit four home runs in his first three contests with the team.

Chisholm Jr. has always had a little bit of pop in his bat, hitting at least 14 home runs in each of the past four seasons. With these four home runs over the past two days, he is already up to 17 this season and is just two away from matching his career high. It is an intriguing aspect of his game because Yankee Stadium is extremely favorable for left-handed hitters, and it is not out of the question for Chisholm Jr. to see his power numbers spike with this trade. If they do, that could make him one of the most impactful additions any team made this trading season.
