Simone Biles doesn't close door on 2028 Summer Olympics

The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris might not be the last time we see Simone Biles soaring through the air and capturing Olympic medals.

Shortly after taking gold in the women's vault final, she did not completely close the door to competing in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Those would be her fourth Olympic games. During the 2024 Paris Games, she became the oldest woman in more than 30 years to claim gold in the all-around competition.

"Is this my last... definitely the Yurchenko double pike ... I mean, I kinda nailed that one," said Biles shortly after winning her vault gold on Saturday. "So, you know, never say never. The next Olympics is at home. So you just never know. But I am getting really old."

Aside from getting an opportunity to compete in the United States, there could be some added motivation for Biles to take part in another Olympics.

Having already won 10 medals in her career with a chance to win two more in Paris, competing in Los Angeles could give her an opportunity to move ahead of Katie Ledecky's 13 medals and become the most decorated women's athlete in U.S. Olympic history. Getting a chance to do that would have to be on her radar. Getting a chance to do so in the U.S. would only add to the honor if she could successfully pull it off.
