Pro Bowl LB approaching undesirable monetary milestone amid Jets holdout

Reddick started his holdout when training camp opened in late July and is seeking a contract extension.

He is due $14.25M in base salary in 2024 and while NFL Network's Ian Rapoport previously reported that a "full-blown extension" may be "unlikely," a contract adjustment for this season would "likely" bring Reddick to camp.

Even though Reddick has yet to take a snap with Gang Green and has done nothing to win over Jets fans, he's proved his worth during his first seven years in the NFL, especially in 2022 and 2023.

The Temple University product spent the first four seasons of his career with the Arizona Cardinals from 2017-20 before signing with the Carolina Panthers for the 2021 campaign. Reddick joined the Eagles in March 2022 and has been one of the best pass rushers in the NFL over the past two seasons.

The former 13th overall pick led the NFL in forced fumbles (five) in 2022 and was second in sacks (16.0) that year as well. Reddick finished the 2022 season as a second team All-Pro, earning his first Pro Bowl honor and finishing fourth in the AP Defensive Player of the Year voting.

He led Philadelphia in tackles for loss (13) and sacks (11.0) in 2023, while tying for the top spot in quarterback hits (23). Reddick made his second consecutive Pro Bowl in 2023 and has been remarkably consistent over the past four years, posting between 11.0 and 16.0 sacks each season.
