The will-they, won't-they drama of the Brandon Aiyuk-San Francisco 49ers saga took another twist late Monday night.
NBC Sports reporter Matt Maiocco reported San Francisco apparently has the "framework of a Brandon Aiyuk trade" with the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots.
According to Maiocco, the decision now sits with Aiyuk over which team's contract he chooses to accept. Aiyuk could also refuse both team's offers altogether.
The 26-year-old is entering the fifth and final year of his contract with San Francisco and has publicly made it known he want's a significant pay raise or to be traded out of the Bay Area.
Aiyuk was present at San Francisco's training camp in Santa Clara, California on Monday but did not practice according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
No, Brandon Aiyuk wasn’t traded this afternoon.

Yes, there are signs that could change as the saga continues in San Francisco. @MikeGarafolo and I had some things to say about it on The Insiders on @nflnetwork: pic.twitter.com/DHN97yoA78
Previous rumors and reports tied Aiyuk to the Pittsburgh Steelers as a likely landing spot as early as Monday afternoon.
San Francisco gave Aiyuk's camp permission to negotiate potential contracts with Pittsburgh, Cleveland, New England and the Washington Commanders per Maiocco's reporting.
Aiyuk played with Washington's rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels at Arizona State during the 2019-20 college football season.
However, the report cited a source who said Washington and Pittsburgh are no longer in the picture due to steep trade terms.
According to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot, San Francisco would likely get veteran receiver Amari Cooper in addition to a package of draft picks in any trade involving Aiyuk.
