By all accounts, four-star wide receiver Jasen Lopez from Miami, Florida, is a great athlete.
That can, of course, be said about most four-star and five-star recruits, but Lopez is the type of multi-sport athlete who can make noise at the college level. Not only does he boast nearly 30 offers on the gridiron, but schools like Florida, Arizona State, TCU, FIU and Hofstra have also offered him as a basketball player.
That's the type of athlete that Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles just secured. It was announced that Lopez committed to FSU on Thursday afternoon.
Florida, Georgia, Miami and Western Virginia were also in the running, so this was a big win for the Seminoles.

Lopez is coming off an official visit to Miami, so the fact that the Seminoles were able to steal him away from the Hurricanes is a big deal. He had officially visited FSU as well the weekend of June 13, and that must have made an impact on him.
He's planning to playing basketball at FSU, but as far as football is concerned, Lopez is a highly regarded wideout. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as a top-50 wideout in the 2026 class, and he's a big-time playmaker.
He put up big numbers in his junior season for Chaminade Madonna, catching 87 passes for 1,300 yards and 14 touchdowns. As a hooper at the high school level, he averaged 25 points, 2.2 assists, 6.4 rebounds and 4.1 steals per game as a junior.
Again, Lopez is an elite athlete, so Florida State is going to have a lot to work with once he steps foot back on campus.
Norvell and the Seminoles have been cooking on the recruiting trail this month. Lopez is their 20th commitment. Since the beginning of June, 11 recruits have decided to join up with FSU.
