Bears rookies Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze are already on the same page.
During Saturday's Week 2 preseason game against the Bengals, the two connected on arguably Chicago's best offensive play of the day.
Williams avoided pressure, rolled out to his left and threw an excellent deep pass on the run. Odunze hauled in the 45-yard reception to set the Bears up in the red zone at the Bengals' 7-yard line.

Williams nearly found Odunze for a touchdown in the back of the end zone later on the drive, but the former Washington wideout was out of bounds.
On third-and-goal, Williams had another highlight play with an absurd 7-yard touchdown run.

Williams and Odunze might have been Pac-12 rivals in college, but there's no bad blood between the two in Chicago.
The Bears selected Williams out of USC with the No. 1 overall pick and Odunze (Washington) at No. 9 in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The duo's burgeoning chemistry is an excellent sign for the Bears, who have talented veteran wide receivers D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen. As the Williams-Odunze connection strengthens, Chicago could easily have one of its most dynamic offenses in franchise history.
It's easy to get carried away during the preseason, but the hype for the Bears is warranted.
