Watch: Broncos rookie QB Bo Nix tosses first TD of his career

Is Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix ready to deliver some late-game magic despite a rocky start against the New York Jets?

On a third-and-7 at New York's 8-yard line, Nix dropped back and fired a quick strike to wide receiver Courtland Sutton for a touchdown, giving the Broncos a 7-6 lead with 3:08 left in the third quarter.

Entering this matchup, Nix had tossed no TDs, four interceptions and logged an above-average 55.2 QBR.

Aside from the passing TD, No. 12 overall pick Nix has had a rough outing against the Jets (2-1). In the first half, he completed 7-of-15 passes for -7 yards, per Ari Merov of The 33rd Team.

Nix leading Denver to a road upset over New York would likely boost the 24-year-old's confidence. Resilience is imperative for young QBs, as it can help them overcome growing pains.

More importantly, Nix mounting a comeback could help the Broncos build momentum and rebound from a 1-2 start.
