Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge broke out of his World Series slump with a first-inning home run in Game 5 against the Dodgers.
The 2022 AL MVP entered Wednesday batting 2-of-15 (.133) with seven strikeouts during the World Series.
Judge drove Dodgers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty's 93 mph four-seam fastball the opposite way to right field for a no-doubt blast to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead.
It was the first pitch of Judge's at-bat and his first home run since Game 3 of the ALCS on Oct. 17.

Third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. followed Judge at the plate and also hit a home run, giving the Yankees back-to-back home runs in the World Series since Thurman Munson and Reggie Jackson did so during in the eighth inning of Game 5 of the 1977 Fall Classic against the Dodgers.
This is the 5th time the @Yankees have hit back-to-back home runs in #WorldSeries history.

New York lost that game 10-4 but won the series 4-2.
The Yankees are in a must-win situation on Wednesday after losing the series' first three games.
No team in MLB history has ever returned from a 3-0 deficit in the World Series to win, but Judge's and Chisholm's back-to-back home runs have the Yankees one step closer to becoming the first.
