Whenever the Kansas City Chiefs have had their backs against the wall this season, they've seemingly escaped with a victory every time.
On Sunday at home against Denver, it appeared the Broncos would pull off the upset, handing the Chiefs their first loss this season.
Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix completed 5-of-5 passes on the final drive, setting up a 35-yard field-goal attempt for kicker Wil Lutz with one second left in the game.
However, Denver squandered its opportunity. Kansas City linebacker Leo Chenal blocked the kick, sealing a 16-14 victory and helping the Chiefs improve to 9-0. The Broncos, meanwhile, fell to 5-5.

Kansas City's ability to win close games is one key reason it's the last undefeated team in the NFL.
According to Jared Koller of KCTV in Kansas City, the Chiefs have won 15 straight games and haven't lost a game in 321 days. He added they have won 12 consecutive one-possession games and nine when they trailed in the second half.
No team has finished the regular season undefeated since the New England Patriots went 16-0 in 2007. Could Kansas City go 17-0? Despite the impressive win streak, that seems unlikely.
The Chiefs still have challenging matchups with the Texans, Bills and Steelers, and it wouldn't be surprising if they lose one of these games.
Regardless, the reigning Super Bowl champions are proving sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.
