Sochan. Jeremy Sochan.
Those are words that the 21-year-old Spurs forward has possibly uttered countless times while staring at the mirror.
Having shown traits of showmanship in his young NBA career, Sochan is ready to take his hidden acting talents to the big screen. Earlier this week, he expressed his desire to audition for the next James Bond while responding to an advert on social media. The uber-confident Sochan disregarded the part of the ad that said "a male in their 30s" and responded with an "I'm ready" message anyway.

The one thing working in Sochan's favor is that, like the world's most famous spy, he's an international man of mystery. He was born in Oklahoma, grew up in England, and started his pro basketball career in Germany. Oh, and he's half-Polish. He's a member of the Polish basketball team and once represented English soccer at the junior level. He's as well-traveled a youngster as there is.
Most of all, he's a charismatic individual who dresses the part, changes his colorful hairdos routinely, like a certain Dennis Rodman, and never fails to make his teammates laugh.
"He's just a super joyful person," teammate Devin Vassell told Tandem Sports and Entertainment earlier this year. "I mean, he's going to put a smile on your face. He just wants to make everybody in the room laugh and smile, and that's probably the biggest thing I would say. There's never a dull moment when it comes to Jeremy."
Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich revealed that, despite their 54-year age difference, he and Sochan share many interests.
"Everything seems to interest him, whether we're talking about race relations in America or what kind of wine might be drunk at a dinner or just random talk about what's happening in the MIddle East," Popovich told Tandem Sports and Entertainment. "When I think about Jeremy, I think about enthusiasm, energy, love of the game and that kind of thing."
Sochan is also quite the influencer. During the offseason, he convinced Victor Wembanyama to dye his hair, albeit temporarily.
Perhaps the role of 007 is a pipe dream, but Sochan may very well make his way to show business someday. He's pretty good at basketball, too, averaging a career-high 15.4 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists through seven games this season. The Spurs are off to a 6-6 start, a year after they won just 22 games. Driven by the trio of Wemby, Sochan and Vassell, under the leadership of Chris Paul, the Spurs could potentially shock the league and make the playoffs this season.
