The No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats could not have asked for a better start to SEC play on Thursday night with a commanding 91-69 win over Mississippi State.

It was a record-setting night for the Wildcats with 18 made threes, surpassing the previous mark of 16, which was accomplished in 2020.
Here is the moment history was made with this long range shot from Georgia Amoore that extended the Kentucky lead to 83-62 with 4:40 to play.

That was one of Amoore's seven made threes on a 27-point night, a season-high for the senior.
This conversion from senior Dazia Lawrence gave Kentucky a 72-53 lead with around nine minutes remaining.

Overall, Lawrence went 7-for-11 from long range and had a team-high 28 points, which was also her season-high.
As a team, the Wildcats were 18-of-33 from behind the arc. Kentucky also made 21 of their 25 free throws and never trailed in their conference opener.
Since its only loss to then-No. 16 North Carolina, the Wildcats have won five games in a row and scored at least 80 points in each of the wins.
Kentucky has only shot 29.6% from three-point range all season, so Thursday night's performance was a welcome sight.
Kentucky (12-1, 1-0 SEC) must keep getting balanced production and shooting the ball as well as it did against the Bulldogs if it is going to be a top-tier contender in a difficult SEC.
