The move marks a return to Front Row for Smith, who drove for the team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2022 and 2023. Smith won the 2022 Truck Series championship with the team.
Smith's rookie season in the Cup Series was a tale of two halves. Through the first half of the season, Smith failed to finish inside the top-10 and only had four top-20 finishes. After being released from his Trackhouse Racing development deal, however, Smith turned his season around, capturing 10 top-20 finishes and three top-10 results over the final 18 events of the season, including a career-best finish of second at Nashville.
With momentum behind him and a familiar set of faces working with him, Smith and the up-and-coming organization have plenty of reasons for optimism going into 2025. Smith makes up a young trio of Cup Series drivers at FRM, joining Noah Gragson and Todd Gilliland in a strong Cup Series lineup for 2025.
