Despite missing the playoffs for a second straight season, the New York Giants didn't fire head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen on Monday.
"Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll will continue in their respective roles with the organization," Giants co-owner John Mara said in a statement. "As disappointing as the results have been, [co-owner Steve] Tisch and I remain confident in the process that Joe and Brian have implemented and their vision for our team."

Keeping Daboll and Schoen could be an unpopular move. Since making the playoffs in its first season with the GM and HC, the club has spiraled over its past two seasons, going 9-25
This season, the Giants finished 3-14, a franchise record for losses in a season, per The Athletic's Charlotte Carroll, RJ Kraft and Jenna West.
The franchise has also made questionable roster moves during the duo's tenure.
In 2023, they signed former starting quarterback Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160M extension. The Giants released him after he went 2-8 in his first 10 starts this season. Giants backup QBs Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito split time for the rest of the season.
This past offseason, New York let running back Saquon Barkley sign a three-year, $37.75M deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, its NFC East rival. In 16 games, Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards, becoming the ninth player to run for 2,000 or more in the regular season.
Mara may be banking on Daboll's and Schoen's eye for talent. In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Giants selected WR Malik Nabers with pick No. 6. In 15 games, the LSU product set the franchise record for receptions (109) in a season.
The Giants have the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, scheduled for April 24-26 in Green Bay. Expect them to take a QB, perhaps Colorado's Shedeur Sanders or Miami's Cam Ward.
Daboll and Schoen better find the answer at the sport's most important position. Otherwise, the fan base may continue to call for their jobs. In two of the Giants' final three home games, airplanes flew over MetLife Stadium, asking Mara to make changes.
If Daboll and Schoen don't take advantage of their second chance next season, that may convince Mara to fire them.
