Before the setback, TCU had won its first seven conference games. A win over Oklahoma State would have surpassed the 2017-18 team for the longest Big 12 winning streak in program history. The loss also snaps a 10-game winning streak for TCU since its only loss of the season to then-No. 3 South Carolina on Dec. 8.
The loss was even more shocking for the Horned Frogs, given they led 39-24 at the half and won the rebounding advantage, 46-34.
TCU still held a 53-44 lead with 4:52 remaining before a late 16-6 run from the Cowgirls. This three-pointer from sophomore guard Stailee Heard put Oklahoma State up 58-55 with 1:12 left and gave the team its first lead since 2-0 less than two minutes into the game.

This was a far cry for a TCU team that averaged 79 points per game in Big 12 play coming into Wednesday night. The last time the program won in Stillwater was in 2020, so the struggles at Oklahoma State continue.
Center Sedona Prince and guards Madison Conner and Hailey Van Lith have combined for 60 points in three Big 12 games. Aside from Prince's team-high 22 points (9-of-18 FG), Conner and Van Lith had 21 points between the two of them and only shot 7-of-22 on the night. That proved to be costly for the Horned Frogs in a tight game and could be a problem going forward if the production is not there from all three of them.
TCU (19-2, 7-1 Big 12) will be in a rare position when it faces No. 25 Baylor on Sunday as it looks to bounce back from a tough road loss.
