Titans' Will Levis makes major career decision amid uncertainty about future

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis seems to understand he could be replaced later this year by the Titans signing a veteran in free agency and then selecting a signal-caller with the first overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Per Terry McCormick of Titans Insider, Levis will spend a portion of the offseason working with former NFL signal-caller and current quarterback trainer/coach Jordan Palmer.

"I had some things for him, too, that we both talked about," Titans head coach Brian Callahan said about Levis at the Senior Bowl on Tuesday. "...I really think Jordan is one of the better guys out there right now in terms of working with pro quarterbacks. So hopefully, that’s an illuminating process for [Levis], a different way of doing things. So he’s gonna go do the whole thing and maybe be out there for two months or whatever it is with Jordan for that time. Some of the footwork, the base and some of the pocket movement things that have to improve. But I’m excited about that for him. I think it’ll be really beneficial."

Levis attempted to refine his mechanics last offseason, but the 2023 second-round draft pick then endured a rough second pro campaign that included being benched in December. According to Pro Football Reference, he ended this past regular season ranked 42nd in the NFL among qualified players with a 27.9 adjusted QBR and 33rd with an 81.4 passer rating. Over 12 games, he tossed 13 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions.

As for Palmer, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer recently noted how the quarterback guru trained Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen before the 2018 draft and "helped fix Allen’s accuracy."

While many believe the Titans will select either Miami quarterback Cam Ward or Colorado's Shedeur Sanders with the first choice of the upcoming draft, The Athletic's Nick Baumgardner and Scott Dochterman predicted on Tuesday that Tennessee will instead take Penn State pass-rusher Abdul Carter. Baumgardner and Dochterman also had the Titans grabbing Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe with overall pick No. 35.

Milroe has been linked with a Cleveland Browns team that currently possesses overall selections No. 2 and No. 33.
