Finally, something we can all agree on.
The scorebug Fox Sports debuted for Super Bowl LIX stinks.

We must give the graphics department some credit. The scorebug certainly can't be missed.
But that's the only good thing we can say about it. For one, it's far too big. Second, it's incredibly boring, featuring Kansas City and Philadelphia's abbreviations ("KC" and "PHI" in bold, white letters against a background of the teams' primary color).
It's also transparent in parts, with the score floating between the team names and the game clock.
Viewers agreed, with several taking to social media to share their disdain.
"After giving Tom Brady $375 million, Fox only had $25 left to spend on a scorebug design," quipped CBS Sports' Tom Fornelli.

Sports Illustrated staff writer Bryan Fischer joked, "Fox's strategy to have everybody criticize the scorebug instead of Tom Brady is so far paying off."

CBS Sports senior writer Matt Norlander looked on the bright side, writing, "It's actually comforting how much scorebug presentation means to people."

The previous Fox scorebug, featuring team logos in a more compact design, was far superior. Still, nothing beats the "Fox Box," which featured the teams stacked in a tasteful square in the top left corner of the screen.
Fox thought outside the box when configuring its Super Bowl LIX scorebug. Unfortunately, it should pack this one back up and return to sender.
