It might not be a "cold, rainy night in Stoke ," but the frigid temperatures in Kansas City are not enough to stop Inter Miami's Lionel Messi from proving he's one of the best to ever play the game.
The 37-year-old scored a sharp-angle goal in the 55th minute to break the deadlock between his club and Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup first round.

The slow-rolling strike on the icy, hard turf was his 35th goal in all competitions for Inter Miami since he joined the club in 2023.
According to the MLS, the feels-like temperature was -6 degrees Fahrenheit during the match on Wednesday.
Messi's goal was all his team needed to clinch the first leg of the tie, with the two clubs slated to meet again on Tuesday in Miami for the second leg.
Inter Miami will open its 2025 MLS season hosting New York City F.C. on Saturday.
