No. 1 Notre Dame women's basketball crushes Miami to win 19th straight game

The Notre Dame men's basketball team is struggling so much right now that head coach Micah Shrewsberry is literally apologizing to past players. In the mean time, the women's team is absolutely rolling, and the Fighting Irish picked up another massive win on Thursday night.

The win, a 82-42 beatdown of Miami on the road, was Notre Dame's 19th straight. The Fighting Irish women's team is now 24-2 and the undisputed No. 1 team in the country. They're also a perfect 15-0 in ACC play.

It was a big game for multiple hoopers on the Notre Dame side.

Senior guard Sonia Citron led all scorers with 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field. She also added eight rebounds, two steals and a block.

Sophomore guard Hannah Hidalgo was right behind Citron with 18 points, and senior forward Liatu King chipped in 13 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks.

The Irish shot 59.3% from the field while holding Miami to just 26.8% shooting. Notre Dame's largest lead of the game was 40 points thanks to a layup with 32 seconds left in the game that created the margin for the final score.

Up next for the Notre Dame women is a massive clash with No. 13 NC State on Sunday.
