The San Francisco 49ers made the somewhat surprising decision on Monday to release Kyle Juszczyk, and the fullback's wife seemed as disappointed in the news as fans were.
Juszczyk was a fan favorite in San Francisco and had been with the 49ers since 2017. Many fans reacted negatively to the news that the team is moving on from Juszczyk. The 33-year-old's wife, Kristin Juszczyk, summed up those emotions with a post on social media.

Juszczyk was set to make more than $6M in 2025, which is a large figure for a fullback. The 49ers will free up $4.2M in salary-cap space by releasing him, according to Spotrac.
Juszczyk is a versatile player, which is why he was such a great fit in Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense. He is capable of catching passes out of the backfield in addition to being an outstanding blocker. Juszczyk had 19 catches for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns last season.
Before signing with San Francisco in 2017, Juszczyk spent the first four seasons of his career with the Baltimore Ravens. He made the Pro Bowl as a Raven in 2016 and then every year since with the 49ers. Juszczyk was also named an All-Pro in the last two seasons.
There is a chance the 49ers could bring Juszczyk back on a new deal. If not, there should be plenty of interest in the veteran elsewhere.
