Insider provides significant injury update on star Arkansas guard

John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks may find themselves with an extra man in the cavalry for the NCAA Tournament.

On Saturday, it was reported that Arkansas head coach John Calipari texted ESPN's Seth Greenberg, telling the college basketball insider that guard Boogie Fland will attempt to play for the Razorbacks in the NCAA Tournament.

On Jan. 21, Fland was ruled out for the season after suffering a hand injury against Florida on Jan. 11 and attempting to play through it. One day after Fland was ruled out for the season, Arkansas won its first SEC game of the season against Georgia on Jan. 22.

However, it appears as if the star guard and NBA prospect isn't done playing at the University of Arkansas just yet.

In 18 games, the freshman from Bronx, New York, averaged 15.1 points per game, 3.4 rebounds per game and 5.7 assists per game.

Fland was ruled out for the season when Arkansas was off to a disastrous 0-5 start to SEC play, but the Hogs are 9-6 in Fland's absence and all but locked themselves into the Big Dance with a win over South Carolina in the SEC Tournament on Mar. 11.

Wherever the Hogs go dancing, Fland will be beside Calipari and his teammates waiting to lace up his sneakers and finish the job he set out to accomplish.
