Five sleeper teams to watch in women's NCAA Tournament

At long last, the bracket for the women's NCAA Tournament has finally been revealed.

As we all know, the tournament never goes according to the seeding and there are always surprises up and down the brackets. With that being said, here are five potential teams to watch out for in the tournament.

Vanderbilt Commodores (22-10), No. 7 seed in East Region

The Commodores are led by freshman Mikayla Blakes, the nation's seventh leading scorer at 23.2 points per game. Blakes set the freshman scoring record with 55 points in a game against Auburn earlier this season.

Vanderbilt had two wins over ranked opponents during the regular season, one at home against Tennessee and the other on the road against Alabama. With the scoring ability of Blakes, Vanderbilt can beat anyone on any given day.

Florida State Seminoles (23-8), No. 6 seed in South Region

The Seminoles are third in the country in points per game at 86.9. That is led by Ta'Niya Latson, the nation's leading scorer at 24.9 points per game.

A key contributor to what the Seminoles hope will be a long run is Carla Viegas. Florida State is 7-0 this season when Viegas scores 10-plus points in a game, including a win against Notre Dame.

Grand Canyon Antelopes (32-2), No. 13 seed in South Region

The Antelopes may very well be the hottest team in women's college basketball at the moment. They have won 30 games in a row and have done so by holding opponents to just 56.7 points per game while scoring 77.1. That 20.4-point differential is good for eighth in the nation.

Grand Canyon can shoot with any team, as they are sixth in three-point percentage (38.1%) and have the nation's second best three-point shooter, Alyssa-Durazo Frescas, who is shooting an even 47% from deep.

Murray State Racers (25-7), No. 11 seed in West Region

The Racers lead the nation in points per game at 87.9, just ahead of Tennessee's 87.2 points per game. They have four players averaging 14-plus points per game, and five of their seven rotation players are shooting 35.6% or better from three-point range.

They haven't lost a game since Feb. 13 and with the ability to score at will, they could be a dangerous team to get into a high scoring game with.

Montana State Bobcats (30-3), No. 13 seed in Midwest Region

This team is all about defense. The Bobcats are the nation's 13th-best scoring defense, allowing just 55.1 points per game.

Being matched up with an Ohio State team that averages 78.9 points per game is a tough draw, but Montana State has allowed over 70 points just four times all season.
