The UConn women's basketball team is on its way to another Elite Eight thanks to a dominant 82-59 win over Oklahoma on Saturday evening. The star of the game was Paige Bueckers, who went off with one of the best tournament performances in the storied history of the program.
It was a master-class performance by Bueckers as she finished with 40 points, six rebounds, three steals, two blocks and an assist. She also shot 16-of-27 from the field, including a staggering 6-of-8 from three-point range.
The 40 points were not only a personal career high for her, but they were also a UConn program record for an NCAA Tournament game.

If UConn can win its Elite Eight game on Monday, it will be the fifth consecutive Final Four appearance for the program.
Bueckers has, to this point, led UConn to a Final Four every year she has been fully healthy. She missed the 2022-23 season due to injury.
Bueckers has not been quite as consistently dominant at times this season as she has been in the past, but as she showed on Saturday she can still completely take over a game. She did so to such a ridiculous degree on Saturday that she actually single-handedly outscored Oklahoma's entire team in the second half of the game.
She is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft where the Dallas Wings have the top overall pick. Games like this should make the decision easy.
