A third Texas A&M player has followed Buzz Williams to Maryland

It's become commonplace for a coach to take a player or two with them when going from one school to another, especially in the transfer-portal era where the restrictions are basically non-existent.

As such, the Maryland Terrapins have picked up a nice commitment via the transfer portal, and it's one that comes with much intrigue.

Andre Mills, who was a freshman last season at Texas A&M, will be following Williams to Maryland. This, according to Jeff Ermann of 247Sports.

Mills is an interesting transfer player for Maryland because he's all potential, and perhaps that's a good thing. He didn't play at all in 2024-25 for the Aggies so he has all four years of eligibility remaining that he could use at Maryland.

He came to Texas A&M as a highly ranked prospect from Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. A four-star recruit in the class of 2024, Mills was ranked as the No. 18 shooting guard in the country, according to 247Sports.

Mills was named the Player of the Year of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council in his senior season after he averaged over 30 points per game with 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals to boot. He also had a game that saw him score a school-record 50 points, according to his Texas A&M bio

He was an intriguing young player on the bench at Texas A&M, and he's now the third Aggie to join Williams at Maryland.

Pharrel Payne, who played in all 34 games last season for the Aggies and averaged 10.4 points and 5.1 rebounds, committed to Maryland earlier this week. Solomon Washington, who averaged 4.7 points and 5.1 rebounds last season for the Aggies, also committed to the Terrapins.

In total, Williams has brought in five transfer players so far. Alongside the three former Aggies, he's landed transfer commitments from former Kansas guard David Coit and former Indiana guard Myles Rice.
