Kyle Lowry sums up 76ers’ season with perfect quote

The Philadelphia 76ers finished off a disastrous season on Sunday with a 122-102 loss to the Chicago Bulls at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa. The defeat dropped them to 24-58 and left the entire organization licking its wounds after a year that started with championship aspirations.

The year was summed up best by veteran guard Kyle Lowry. Lowry was asked how he would remember this season, and he did not hold back in his response.

“I’ll try not to,” Lowry said.

Lowry is a 19-year pro who joined the Sixers to try and win a championship. He definitely was not looking to play out a completely lost season at the age of 39.

For the Sixers, virtually everything that could go wrong did go wrong this season. Injuries hit them hard, with big offseason addition Paul George hobbled for a large part of the season . Things were even worse for Joel Embiid, who was never healthy and reportedly had some issues with the organization before being shut down for the year.

The Sixers have a solid core that could contend next season if they can stay healthy. Lowry is a free agent at the end of the season, and may not be a part of it.
