Former NFL kicker Jay Feely is taking a break from football to launch a career in politics.
Feely announced on Tuesday that he will run for the U.S. House of Representatives in Arizona's 5th Congressional District during the 2026 midterm elections.

The seat that Feely will be campaigning for is currently held by Rep. Andy Biggs, who is in his fifth Congressional term but announced in January that he is running for governor of Arizona.
Feely, 48, is running as a Republican. He said he was asked by U.S. President Donald Trump to run in 2022, but he did not want to pursue a career in politics while his children were still in high school.
Feely retired after the 2014 season and began working as a broadcaster for CBS. He thanked the network and his colleagues in a social media post on Tuesday.
Jim Nantz is simply the best, he couldn’t have been nicer to me from day 1@TMacPhils I couldn’t ask for a better more unselfish partner
