Ashton Jeanty is a top prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft, and many people are wondering where he will end up. The former Boise State running back keeps being linked to one team.
In his latest mock draft, longtime NFL reporter Peter Schrager had the Jacksonville Jaguars selecting Jeanty with the No. 5 overall pick.
“I think Ashton Jeanty’s gonna be the pick at five over some of the more decorated defensive players,” Schrager told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Veteran NFL Draft reporter Tony Pauline has also linked Jeanty to the Jags and says the AFC South team believes Jeanty is the missing piece to their offense.

There has been a philosophy that has emerged over the last several years stating that teams should not draft a running back highly. The belief is that position is not that valuable. However, Saquon Barkley proved last year that investing in a game-changing running back can make a big difference. Jeanty feels like he can do what Barkley did. Teams do seem to have interest in even trading up so they can draft the former Boise State star.
Jeanty rushed for 1,347 yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore, and 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns last season. He was an All-American and finished second in Heisman Trophy voting last season.
Jeanty may only be 5-foot-8, but his muscular build and incredible athleticism have attracted teams.
