Corey Heim survives OT to win NASCAR Truck Series race at Texas

In a race that featured 11 caution flags and two overtime restarts, Corey Heim fended off Daniel Hemric and Ben Rhodes to earn his third win of the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season.

Heim dominated the race, but a plethora of late cautions put his lead in jeopardy multiple times. When the field took the white flag, Heim was in the middle of a three-wide battle with Hemric and Rhodes.

In the middle of turn 2, however, Heim cleared Hemric and drove off, winning for the 14th time in his Truck Series career. The win is Heim's first at Texas, a track where he has yet to finish outside of the top-10 in four starts.

"I wasn't letting them take that one away from me," Heim told Fox Sports. "I've given up too many this year so far. Just so proud of these TRICON guys.

"They tried to take me three-wide into (turn) 1. I just drove until I couldn't anymore."

Hemric, Rajah Caruth, Tyler Ankrum and Tanner Gray rounded out the top-five, with Rhodes, Matt Crafton, Bayley Currey, Dawson Sutton and Ty Majeski completing the top-10.

Other notable finishers include Stefan Parsons in 12th, Nick Sanchez in 13th, Chandler Smith in 16th, Carson Hocevar in 17th and Jake Garcia in 21st.

Grant Enfinger and Stewart Friesen finished 23rd and 24th, respectively, after a crash on Lap 157 while both drivers were running inside the top-five, while Frankie Muniz finished 25th after blowing a tire on Lap 147.

Layne Riggs, Andres Perez, Brandon Jones, Gio Ruggiero and Kaden Honeycutt were also involved in wrecks on Friday, while Toni Breidinger finished 26th after suffering battery and alternator issues on her No. 5 Toyota.

The ninth race of the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season will take place at Kansas Speedway on May 10. The Heart of America 200 will go green shortly after 7:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on FS1, NRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
