Carson Hocevar fends off Layne Riggs to win NASCAR Truck Series race at Kansas

On the final lap of Saturday's Heart of Health Care 200, Carson Hocevar had his hands full.

A hard-charging Layne Riggs had caught Hocevar as the two drivers flew under the white flag, and in the middle of Turns 1 and 2, contact from Riggs sent Hocevar's No. 7 sideways.

Despite the short slide, Hocevar gathered up his Chevrolet Silverado and drove away from Riggs to claim the fifth victory of his Truck Series career.

"Just thought I'd keep it interesting," Hocevar told Fox Sports.

Riggs, William Byron, Corey Heim and Gio Ruggierio rounded out the top five, with Stewart Friesen, Brandon Jones, Jake Garcia, polesitter Kaden Honeycutt and Grant Enfinger completing the top 10.

Other notable finishers include Daniel Hemric in 11th, Ben Rhodes in 12th, Matt Crafton in 14th, Ty Majeski in 15th and Rajah Caruth in 22nd.

Heim was the other dominant driver of the night aside from Hocevar, leading 52 laps. However, a mistake on pit road and a restart violation late in the race shot down his chances to win, forcing the 22-year-old to settle for a disappointing fourth-place finish.

With nine races complete, Heim retains the points lead over Chandler Smith by 64 points. Ben Rhodes currently holds the 10th and final provisional playoff spot by eight points over Stewart Friesen.

The 10th race of the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season will take place at North Wilkesboro Speedway on May 17. The Window World 250 will go green shortly after 1:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
