The shorthanded Golden State Warriors were playing the Minnesota Timberwolves even through 28 minutes Monday. But a 17-0 four-minute stretch put the Wolves in the driver's seat of Game 4 — and the second-round series as a whole.

From the 7:45 mark of the third quarter to 3:46, the Timberwolves scored 17 straight points, 11 of them from Anthony Edwards. Minnesota's All-Star guard had two three-pointers and a three-point play on his way to nearly outscoring Golden State by himself in the third quarter.

Edwards had 16 in the third while the Warriors scored 17. Golden State seemed stunned by the Timberwolves' three-point barrage, which they followed with five straight baskets at the rim against a dazed Warriors defense.

Some of that was great shooting for the Timberwolves, while some seemed to be fatigue from the Warriors. After Jimmy Butler played 43 points in Saturday's close Game 3 loss, he seemed invisible in the third quarter, while the Steph Curry-free Warriors simply couldn't get a bucket.
Without Curry, overcoming a 20-point fourth quarter deficit seems beyond the Warriors' offensive capabilities. Their only hope might be the only thing that's slowed Edwards in this series so far: foul trouble.
