Quinn Ewers has already landed a huge paycheck before even throwing his first pass as a pro.
Ewers was a seventh-round selection for the Miami Dolphins, who snagged the Texas quarterback in April’s NFL Draft with the 231st overall pick. While Ewers was the 13th QB selected in the draft, he’s a much more high-profile player than anyone picked in his round.
Look no further than the endorsement deal Ewers recently announced with sports cards giant Panini. According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Ewers’ contract with Panini is worth $3 million, which is reportedly the biggest-ever payday for any seventh-round pick in his first year.
Excited to announce that I have signed an exclusive autograph trading card deal with @paniniamerica for my NFL trading cards.

Thank you @paniniamerica for helping me tell my story and continuing our relationship! I can’t wait to see my first NFL trading cards! #RatedRookie pic.twitter.com/a8Pr4K3MsH
Ewers’ decision to make the leap to the NFL was a surprise to some, given that the 22-year-old was said to have turned down an $8 million NIL offer to transfer out of Texas.
Only the top three picks in the draft earn at least $8 million in salary over their first NFL season. Ewers’ deal with the Dolphins as a seventh-round pick is worth $4.3 million over four seasons.
While the endorsement deal with Panini still doesn’t cover the $8 million Ewers may have foregone by going pro, he’s at least $3 million nearer to closing the gap.
