2025 Los Angeles Rams projected win total, prediction

Under head coach Sean McVay, the Los Angeles Rams have consistently been one of the NFL's best teams, appearing in two Super Bowls, winning one of them and topping the 10-win mark in six of his first eight seasons on the sidelines.

Here is a look at what could be ahead for them during the 2025 season as they attempt to compete for another NFC crown.

Projected win total: 9.5 (BetMGM)

Outlook: The biggest question for the 2025 Rams comes down to the veterans on offense, including quarterback Matthew Stafford and his newest wide receiver, Davante Adams, and how much they have left in the tank as top-tier players.

When healthy, Stafford is still one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and is coming off another strong season that saw him throw for 3,762 yards, 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He clearly still had some juice in his arm and helped get the Rams into the second round of the playoffs and right on the verge of the NFC Championship game.

The biggest concern is that he is going to be 37 years old and has had some injury issues in recent seasons. If he can duplicate his 2024 performance, the Rams could again be a Super Bowl contender in the NFC. If he can't, or if he misses time, there is a significant drop off between him and backup Jimmy Garoppolo.

Adams was brought in to replace the released Cooper Kupp. He is going to be 32 years old on opening day but is coming off his fifth consecutive 1,000-yard season and his sixth in the past seven years. The only year he failed to reach the 1,000-yard mark over that stretch was in 2019 when he had 997 yards in only 12 games.

The Rams also have a potentially strong two-headed monster at running back with veteran Kyren Williams and second-year player Blake Corum to help balance out the offense and complement the passing game.

Defensively last season, the Rams had to deal with the retirement of Aaron Donald and used their top-two picks on edge-rusher Jared Verse and defensive tackle Braden Fiske. Along with rising star Kobie Turner, the Rams' new-look defensive line became a pleasant surprise and is set up for long-term success.

One of the big question marks on the defense remains in the secondary where they are still lacking a true No. 1, shutdown cornerback. They are reportedly in the market for a potential reunion with Jalen Ramsey as trade speculation with the Miami Dolphins continues. If they could land him, it would be a huge addition for their defense.

Our take: There are a lot of "ifs" when it comes to the 2025 Rams and what their ceiling is. If Stafford stays healthy. If Adams is still good. If they can get Ramsey back into the secondary. The more "ifs" a team has thrown its way, the more likely it is something can go wrong. But if things go according to plan, there is every reason to believe the Rams can top the double-digit win total again and make another serious push in the playoffs.

Predicted win total: 11
