Fans say they received cease and desist letter over their Angel Reese bets

The fans who received attention over their interesting Angel Reese bets apparently had their hands slapped.

Earlier this month, some sports fans generated attention for their sports application because they went on a run betting against Reese. Through their app, which allows users to accumulate points to exchange for prizes, the fans would bet against Reese making her first shot attempt of Chicago Sky games. They went on quite a run thanks to Reese missing her first shot, which critics loved.

But in a post on LinkedIn promoting what a great job they did creating content that spread over social media, those involved said that “it got picked up everywhere… until we received a C&D and had to pull it.”

A C&D is code for a cease and desist letter, which is something generally sent by lawyers to threaten someone to stop doing something.

The reason for the cease and desist letter was not expressed, nor do we know on whose behalf the letter was sent. However, it could be as simple as they received the letters for violating copyright by including footage from WNBA games in their social media posts.

Still, the point stands — they received tons of attention for going against Reese, and now they have been dinged. They would probably tell you: mission accomplished.
