The Jacksonville Jaguars officially have Travis Hunter under contract, and the two-way star has set a new NFL record with the deal.
Hunter signed his rookie contract with the Jaguars on Sunday. The deal is worth $46.65M, which was predetermined by the rookie wage scale. What is unique about Hunter's contract is that his entire $30.57M signing bonus is being paid up front.
As ESPN's Adam Schefter notes, Hunter is the first non-quarterback in NFL history to receive his entire signing bonus up front on a rookie contract.

The Jaguars traded up from No. 5 overall to No. 2 overall to draft Hunter earlier this year. They have indicated that they will have him play both offense and defense, so it is only fitting that he is the first non-quarterback in NFL history to receive his entire signing bonus before playing a snap.
It remains unclear if Hunter will primarily be a wide receiver or defensive back in Jacksonville, but there are plenty of people who believe he can be a full-time player on both offense and defense. Should that happen, Hunter will be worth his rookie contract and then some.
