Where the NASCAR Cup Series playoff picture sits after Pocono

Chase Briscoe clinched a spot in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs with his victory in Sunday's race at Pocono Raceway, resulting in another big change to the playoff bubble.

With nine races left in the regular season, here's what the Cup Series playoff picture looks like.

1. Kyle Larson (three wins)

2. Denny Hamlin (three wins)

3. Christopher Bell (three wins)

4. William Byron (one win)

5. Ryan Blaney (one win)

6. Joey Logano (one win)

7. Austin Cindric (one win)

8. Chase Briscoe (one win)

9. Josh Berry (one win)

10. Shane van Gisbergen (one win)

11. Ross Chastain (one win)

12. Chase Elliott (+160)

13. Tyler Reddick (+107)

Brake issues relegated Reddick to a 32nd-place finish at Pocono. While it's not time for him to panic, another winner or two from below the cut line could put Reddick in danger of having to fight for a playoff spot on the bubble.

14. Chris Buescher (+38)

Buescher might be focused on winning, but a fourth-place finish at Pocono gained him 19 points on the cut line. All things considered, that's a solid day for the No. 17 team.

15. Bubba Wallace (+29)

Like Reddick and his other 23XI Racing teammate in Riley Herbst, Wallace suffered brake issues that relegated him to a 36th-place finish at Pocono. Wallace lost 28 points to the cut line over the course of one afternoon, and another bad race at Atlanta could see him fall below the cut line.

16. Alex Bowman (+20)

An 11th-place finish is a decent result for the No. 48 team, but Bowman is still squarely on the cut line with nine races left in the regular season. Another winner from below the cut line would put Bowman in real danger of missing the playoffs.

17. Ryan Preece (-20)

Preece scored another top-10 finish at Pocono, but it's looking like a win will be needed if the No. 60 team wants to make the postseason in their inaugural season. However, Preece has solid momentum behind him — if he is in the mix for a spot on points at Daytona, he's a solid bet.

18. AJ Allmendinger (-59)

Allmendinger's attention has to now be turned towards races at the Chicago Street Course (July 6) and Sonoma (July 13). A win at one of those is his most likely path to the playoffs.

19. Erik Jones (-62)

A 13th-place finish at Pocono keeps Jones within striking distance of the postseason. However unlikely it may seem at the moment, there is a possibility of Jones and the No. 43 team pointing their way into the playoffs.

20. Kyle Busch (-63)

Races like Sunday, where Busch finished 20th at Pocono, simply won't cut it as Busch looks to get back to the postseason. A win at Daytona in the regular season finale is looking like Busch's most likely path to the playoffs.
