The Oregon Ducks have had great success at the quarterback position over the years. With that in mind, it's no surprise that one of the top quarterback recruits in the 2026 class has committed to Oregon.
Bryson Beaver, a four-star quarterback from Murrieta, California (Vista Murrieta High School), has committed to Oregon. The stories would have written themselves had he committed to the Oregon State Beavers, but the opportunity to play for the Ducks was too much to pass up on for him.
The last few weeks have been a blessing—I’ve had some great conversations with amazing coaches from top programs, and I’m super thankful for the interest I’ve received. With that said, I’m excited to announce that I’m committing to play football at @oregonfootball ! Huge thank… pic.twitter.com/CYUAaEzzVg

More than anything, it comes down to the hopes of an NFL future.
"Honestly, my dream is to play in the NFL someday, and they know how to do that for sure,” Beaver recently told On3, explaining his interest in Oregon. “Because they have I think four active quarterbacks right now in the NFL, and I think they had two Heisman candidates the last two years. So they know how to produce and develop quarterbacks. That’s kind of the biggest and most important reason. It’s very intriguing for me.”
For what it's worth, Beaver has the profile of a quarterback who could succeed and one day be Oregon's next NFL Draft pick.
He's an Elite 11 finalist and ranked as the No. 17 quarterback in the country, according to 247Sports. As a junior, he threw for 3,214 yards and 33 touchdowns with only three interceptions. He also rushed 58 times for 411 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss and Cal were also in the running for Beaver's commitment. He was also previously committed to Boise State.
Beaver is just Oregon's 10th 2026 commitment for a class that's ranked No. 29 nationally. Expect Dan Lanning and co. to keep growing that class, though, and the Ducks will likely end up somewhere near the top of the rankings when all is said and done.
