Takeaways from WWE Night of Champions: John Cena does it again

Despite several concerns regarding the safety of the performers, WWE held its annual Night of Champions premium live event, live from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday afternoon.

From title changes to a shocking debut, the event was a wild ride from start to finish, and we're here to recap it all.

Here are five takeaways from Saturday's event.

Randy Orton's final heel turn is coming

Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes kicked off the show with a match that crowned this year's King of the Ring winner. It was a back-and-forth battle that ultimately led to Rhodes knocking off Orton.

It was because of an exposed turnbuckle, done by Orton, that allowed Rhodes to get Orton in position for his finishing maneuver.

Orton showed several signs during the match that he is leaning back toward the dark side that we've seen from him for years upon years.

Saturday could be a sign that Orton may need to go back to the dark place we've seen before to help himself capture one last WWE Championship.

The New Bloodline is once again on top

It was only a matter of time before Solo Sikoa got his hands on a singles title on the main roster and it was done with help from a surprise debut.

Hikuelo, a member of the bloodline, made his highly anticipated WWE debut and took out Jacob Fatu. His presence allowed for Sikoa to take advantage and knock off Fatu to secure the United States Championship.

The new bloodline already had the advantage in the numbers game and now with the debut of Hikuelo, they will be in full control of Friday Night SmackDown every week.

Karrion Kross finally got his opportunity

For months now, the WWE universe has been pleading for Karrion Kross to get a bit of a mini-push and be showcased more on the weekly shows.

He was finally given that opportunity with a 1-on-1 match against Sami Zayn, and while he ultimately took the loss, it was still the biggest opportunity he's been given in quite some time.

Kross's appearance at Night of Champions could be a sign that the company has big plans for him and could use him in a greater capacity soon.

Both women's matches delivered

Rhea Ripley, Raquel Rodriguez, Jade Cargill and Asuka were the four women featured on the show, and all four delivered in a big way.

Ripley and Rodriguez delivered in an excellent street fight match that saw Ripley come away victorious.

Cargill and Asuka battled in the Queen of the Ring finals, and Cargill got what could arguably be considered the biggest win of her WWE career in that match.

Babyface John Cena is ever so close

John Cena's heel turn four months ago was a shocking moment in WWE history and with just about five months remaining until his departure, he is sure to turn back to a baby face at some point.

He has shown hints of that in his last two title defenses, most recently being in Saturday's match against CM Punk.

He did ultimately come away with a dirty win with the help of Seth Rollins, but the babyface Cena that has been on TV for the last 20-plus years is almost all the way back.
