The LeBron James trade talk has become widespread enough that the question was put to his son Bronny on Wednesday.

Bronny admitted that even his own friends ask him if he has any inside information on James’ future with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, he said he has not been paying attention to the rumors.

“I don’t really pay attention to that stuff,” Bronny said. “There’s a lot of stuff going around that I don’t really pay attention to.”

Even if Bronny did know something, he is highly unlikely to talk about it publicly. James’ thinking seems to be a closely-guarded secret at this point, even though he has opted into his contract with the Lakers for next season.

James has made a big deal about wanting to play on a championship contender, and may be assessing whether that describes the Lakers. There is no belief that James is likely to be traded, but the door has not been completely shut.

Bronny, of course, would be unlikely to be part of any trade involving his father. That puts him in an even more awkward position when answering these sorts of questions.

If James were to be dealt, there is a small handful of teams that might be able to land him.
