Randy Moss believes this wide receiver could be the best ever

From one Vikings legend to another, Randy Moss has been very vocal about his admiration for current superstar Justin Jefferson. In a TMZ Sports interview, Moss had some bold predictions for Justin, declaring that he could surpass any wide receiver in NFL history.

"I think Justin Jefferson is on pace to be arguably the greatest ever and definitely the greatest Viking to ever do it!" Moss told TMZ Sports.

Coming from the man that many believe is the greatest or one of the greatest wideouts of all time, is extremely high praise. Moss went even further, commending Jefferson’s ability to completely change the game with his touchdown scoring ability.

"If you want to really be legendary, this is speaking for all wide receivers, not just Justin Jefferson, you gotta find ways to get in that end zone and bring the fans out of the stands up out of their seats."

Since Jefferson has entered the NFL in 2020, he has gone above and beyond all expectations. Through his first five seasons, he has racked up 495 catches for 7,432 yards and 40 touchdowns. This is even despite the fact he missed several games in the 2023 season. His consistency has already earned himself many awards, including 4 Pro-Bowl nods, 4 All-Pro Team selections, and an Offensive Player of the Year award in 2022.

Moss dominated his time in the NFL, and especially in the purple and gold. In his eight years with the Vikings, Moss put up a staggering 9,316 receiving yards and 92 touchdowns. Through his career he earned 6 Pro-Bowl selections and 4 All-Pro First Team nods, His game was defined for his big play ability, with incredible athleticism and acrobatics. So much so that being “Mossed” became its own verb. Jefferson, though play style wise is a very different player, matches Moss's dynamic playmaking ability, and pairs that with elite route nuance, hands, and reliability.

Moss’s recent journey adds even more depth to this powerful endorsement. He was diagnosed with bile duct cancer earlier this year, a diagnosis that sparked an outpouring amount of support across the NFL community. After months of treatment, Moss is now officially cancer free, which is an incredible development that made his emotional return to ESPN all the more meaningful.

As Jefferson heads into what could be the prime of his career, the stage is clearly set. If he keeps the consistency moving forward, the argument that he is on path to be the greatest wideout in Vikings and maybe even NFL history, may change from a bold claim to an accepted truth.
