The 'National League MVPs' quiz

After a battle with prostate cancer, Major League Baseball and Chicago Cubs legend Ryne Sandberg has passed away at the age of 65.

A native of Spokane, Washington, Sandberg was a 20th-round selection in the 1978 MLB Amateur Draft and he made his MLB debut on Sept 2, 1981 for the Philadelphia Phillies. That offseason, Sandberg was included in a trade that sent shortstop Larry Bowa to the Cubs for Ivan de Jesus. While Bowa was out of Chicago by 1985, Sandberg became one of the best to ever don a Cubs uniform.

“Ryno,” made 10 All-Star games, won nine Gold Gloves and seven Silver Sluggers en route to his 2005 Baseball Hall of Fame enshrinement.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. In 1984 Sandberg led MLB with 19 triples and the National League in both runs and Wins Above Replacement (WAR) to win the National League’s Most Valuable Player award. With that being said, how many of NL MVPs since 1980 can you name in six minutes?

Good luck!
