Joe Burrow gives Bengals fans reason to be excited about upcoming season

The Cincinnati Bengals have a few reasons to be optimistic heading into the 2025 NFL season, and the biggest of all is the health and confidence of their franchise quarterback. For the first time since maybe his rookie year, Joe Burrow is fully healthy during camp. So far, the results have been excellent; he looks sharper and much more confident than previous versions of himself. 

When speaking with the media on Wednesday, Burrow made a point to discuss where he is with his recent training camp performances. 

"I think this is the best I'm throwing it in several years, so I'm excited about that," Burrow said to Cincinnati media. "Excited about where our team's at, too."

This optimism carries extra weight when you consider the injury setbacks that have plagued Burrow throughout his young career. In 2021, he was recovering from a torn ACL. In 2022, he had an emergency appendectomy. The following season, he sustained a calf strain. And 2024, a wrist injury limited him in camp. This would mark the first time Burrow enters into a camp at full health and strength, and it appears he is having his best camp because of it. 

Despite all of the injury hurdles, Burrow has consistently produced at an incredible level on the field. 2024 was arguably his best year, where he racked up 4,918 passing yards, 43 touchdowns and finished fourth in MVP voting. He did this all even though the Bengals defense ranked 25th in opponent points per game, and offensively, they ranked 30th in rushing yards per game. Burrow’s poise, efficiency and accuracy have turned the Bengals into an elite unit, and Burrow is the biggest reason why. 

Now, with no medical concerns to slow him down, Burrow looks ready to take his game to an even higher level. The Bengals are making a push to start better this upcoming year, and a fully healthy Burrow could be the catalyst that makes it possible. If Burrow’s early camp performance is any indication, the rest of the NFL should be on high alert.
