Detroit Lions defensive back Morice Norris was stretchered off the field in a frightening scene on Friday night, but fortunately, there have been nothing but positive updates about his health since.
Norris took a knee to the head while attempting a tackle in the fourth quarter of Detroit's preseason game against the Falcons in Atlanta. The safety lay motionless on the field following the play and was carefully loaded onto a stretcher before being transported to a local hospital.
Both teams chose not to continue with the game after Norris' injury. A short while later, the Lions shared the welcome update that Norris had "feeling and movement in all his extremities." Norris himself then said in a social media post that he is "all good" and appreciates the support from fans.
Norris has since returned to work. According to a report from Larry Lage of The Associate Press, Norris was back at the Lions' training facility on Sunday.
Norris signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State last year. He spent the majority of the year on the practice squad and is competing for a roster spot this season.
