Renowned striker Luis Suarez once again lost his cool on Sunday after his team fell short of a trophy.

Suarez’s Inter Miami club was outclassed by the Seattle Sounders, 3-0, in the Leagues Cup Final held at Lumen Field in Seattle. A melee broke out between the two sides once the game ended.

With tempers flaring on the pitch, Suarez was seen confronting a member of the Sounders’ coaching staff. Inter Miami goalkeeper Oscar Ustari tried to calm Suarez down. But before Ustari could fully restrain his teammate, Suarez spat on the Sounders staffer.

The small consolation was that Suarez did not bite the man. The Uruguayan superstar has had his legendary career as a striker marred by his history of biting opposing players when angered.

Suarez’s most infamous biting incident happened on the world stage. He helped lead Uruguay to an upset victory over Italy, advancing to the knockout stages of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. But Suarez got suspended for the rest of the tournament after he bit Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini on the shoulder.

In 2023, Suarez joined Inter Miami with former teammate Lionel Messi. Over a decade since his last incident, Suarez still can’t keep his temper in check.
