The Round of 16 at the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 has come to a close and the quarterfinals are now set.
The four games from Sunday were closely contested games, as they all had margins of 10 points or less. Here are five players who had standout performances in these important must-win games.
Luka Doncic
The Los Angeles Lakers star has been on a tear, carrying Slovenia throughout the tournament. Doncic saved his highest-scoring game so far for Sunday's 84-77 victory over Italy.
The 26-year-old posted 42 points (22 in the first quarter), 10 rebounds and three steals while shooting 11-of-19 from the field and 5-of-11 from three-point range. Doncic is currently the leading scorer at this EuroBasket, averaging 34.0 points per game.
This is Slovenia's third straight quarterfinals appearance at a EuroBasket, and it will face tournament favorite Germany next on Wednesday, where it will need more Luka magic to pull off the upset.
Imagine waking up knowing you'll have to guard Luka Doncic.

Giannis Antetokounmpo
The Greek Freak followed up Doncic's performance with a 37-point, 10-rebound, 18-of-23 shooting game of his own in Greece's 84-79 win over Israel.
Antetokounmpo now has 10 straight EuroBasket games with at least 25 points, and he also became the fifth player in this EuroBasket to record a 30-10 stat line. He is currently averaging 30.0 points per game, second behind Doncic.
Greece will face Lithuania in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Kamar Baldwin
The former Butler Bulldog and Georgia's naturalized player led the way in the team's stunning upset of heavyweight France, 80-70.
The 27-year-old guard saved his best game for when it mattered most, finishing with 24 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals on an efficient 8-of-10 from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point.

Tornike Shengelia
Another driving force for Georgia in the historic upset was its team captain. The 33-year-old forward recorded 24 points, eight rebounds and two assists, shooting 7-of-10 from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range.
Shengelia, who previously played in 45 NBA games between 2012-14, knocked down a couple clutch three-pointers late in the game, including one that broke the tie with under three minutes. Georgia never looked back after that.
Georgia has reached the EuroBasket quarterfinals for the first time ever in only its sixth appearance and will take on Finland on Wednesday in what should be an interesting game.
Finland is another good story from the tournament after it also pulled off a huge upset on Saturday behind Lauri Markkanen.

Jordan Loyd
The naturalized player for Poland posted 28 points and three rebounds while shooting 8-of-17 from the field and 3-of-7 from beyond the arc as Poland defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina, 80-72.
The 32-year-old guard and former NBA champion with the Toronto Raptors (playing in 12 games) has had no problem scoring, as he is currently fifth in points per game, averaging 23.0. He is the only non-NBA player among the tournament's top 12 scorers.
This is Poland's second straight trip to the quarterfinals, and they will now face Türkiye on Tuesday.
