West Virginia gets terrible injury news after loss to Ohio

It can be tough when you add insult to injury, but the West Virginia Mountaineers are finding out that adding injury to insult in college football feels just as bad.

That's the case on Monday as the Mountaineers are still licking their wounds from a 17-10 loss on the road against the Ohio Bobcats, who are a part of the MAC.

Again, this is the Ohio Bobcats we're talking about. Not the Ohio State Buckeyes.

It was a terrible loss for head coach Rich Rodriguez and his team, but on Monday, things went from bad to worse.

Star WVU running back Jahiem White was injured in the game against the Bobcats, and on Monday, it was reported that he's likely to miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury.

Jahiem White's injury has big impact on West Virginia

Losing White is a huge blow for West Virginia. Last season, as a sophomore, he played in 13 games and started in 11 for the Mountaineers. He led WVU in rushing with 148 carries for 844 yards and seven touchdowns scored. He also had 19 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown.

If West Virginia had hope for a quick turnaround in Rodriguez's first season back as head coach, White was expected to be a huge part of that.

In just two games played in 2025, White will finish with just 24 carries that he turned into 133 yards and three touchdowns.

It was also announced on Monday that redshirt senior wideout Jaden Bray will also miss the rest of this season due to injury.

When it rains, it pours.
