Jim Harbaugh delivers a wild quote about QB Justin Herbert

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh was once again in awe of Justin Herbert's performance on Friday, and the head coach has outdone himself with his latest quote about the star quarterback.

Herbert completed 25-of-34 passes for 318 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Chargers' 27-21 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He also showcased some toughness while taking a few big hits, and it would be an understatement to say Harbaugh was impressed.

Harbaugh admires Herbert's toughness

During a news conference on Monday, Harbaugh spoke about how effective the Chiefs are with their blitzes. He recalled one play where Herbert was walloped by a defender on a blitz up the middle on second down and then came back on the following play to complete a pass. Harbaugh praised Herbert in typical Harbaugh fashion.

"This is one of the best blitzing teams in the NFL. They come out of nowhere, second-highest zero-blitz team," Harbaugh said. "They got us on one, a huge hit on Justin. The kind of hit that would have killed a lesser man. That's how big that hit was. Let's be honest about that.

"Then our guy, Justin Herbert, gets right back in the huddle and it's 3rd-and-14, and hits Quentin Johnston, which ended up being a half-yard short of that first down. That allowed for that (fourth-down conversion)."

Harbaugh added that most players would not be able to take that kind of hit and "look down the barrel of the gun" on the following play.
